Why Matcha from Uji, Kyoto?

We traveled across Japan — from the misty hills of Shizuoka to the quiet valleys of Mie — searching for the perfect matcha. Some were good. Some were remarkable. But none captured the soul of matcha like Uji. Its depth, balance, vibrant green, and gentle sweetness set it apart. For centuries, Uji has been Japan’s most revered matcha-growing region, cherished for its heritage and craftsmanship. After tasting it, the choice was clear. Matcha Mura begins here, rooted in tradition.
